Your first scan

When a search runs, Jobably:

1. Collects new postings from each source since the last check (the first run looks back a full week — career-site boards move slower than job boards, and a day-wide first window can miss everything; after that, checks slightly overlap so nothing slips through between runs).
2. Removes duplicates — including the sneaky kind, where the same role is reposted under a fresh listing so it looks new.
3. Filters out employers on your reputation-exclusion list before anything is saved.
4. Saves and scores everything that remains against your personal rubric, each with a written explanation.

Reading scan health

The dashboard shows health for every search: when it last ran, how many postings came back, how many were kept, and any problems — named plainly, not hidden.

Zero results? The health panel shows exactly how your query was understood. A query that came out too narrow (or empty) is the most common cause — see the traps Jobably catches.

How often

Searches run every 6 hours by default — configurable per search, down to hourly on the Executive plan. Pausing a search stops the runs but remembers exactly where it left off — resuming picks up from that point with no gap and no re-fetching. That’s also why searches pause rather than delete.
